Food Glorious Food!

Now at home we look for Italian table wines that remind us of the simply fantastic house wines that we drank by the liter.  I buy imported Italian pasta and try to keep it perfectly al dente, as I learned on our trip.

Our first night, jet lagged and beyond exhausted, we hop into a cab and use our trusty RS guide to take us to an off-the-beaten-path restaurant.  Sublime!!!!

In Rome's hip Trastevere neighborhood, we indulge in a walking foodie tour.  We meet a local baker and her ancient oven and taste smoked

meats at a local butcher.  Wines, stew, and more gelato aren't

pictured but are remembered.

Seafood salad I'm still remembering, from the Cinque Terra; our favorite habit of cappucinos; wine tasting with munchies in Volterra; indulgent breakfasts; a kosher lunch in the Jewish ghetto, including mint tea with almonds; and a steak dinner with new friends in Florence.
